ingredients
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons milk
directions
  • In large mixing bowl sift together flour, baking powder and salt
  • Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  • Pour milk into flour mixture,stir with fork until dough is soft ,moist and pulls away from the side of the bowl,
  • Turn dough out onto a light floured surface and toss with flour until no loger sticky. Foll dough out into 1/2″ thick sheet and cut with biscuit cutter.
  • Place biscuits onto ungreased 1/2 sheet pan and bake.
